This has also attracted tourists, especially women, after watching the old classic "I Love Lucy". As for me, I fell in love with the idea after watching one of my favorite romance movies "A Walk In The Clouds" with Keanu Reeves. In the movie the eldest woman of the family, the grandmother, was blowing through a horn in each direction as a prayer to God for the winds in all directions. This was to thank him for the natural climate to provide the quality of the grapes for the making of the wine. The lady "Victoria" in the movie that is looking like Keanu Reeve's wife is actually not. She lied to her family due to being pregnant and brought Keanu Reeve as a stranger pretending that he is her husband. You can see a clip of this movie below and the process of the "traditional" way of the fermentation process of wine making.
I am a wine lover and it seems they have changed all the processes that actually make the wine taste better. As we all know alcohol has a sterilizing attribute so grape stomping actually makes it safe to drink. Unfortunately, due to regulations, they are unable to use the wine that has been stomped on from bare feet for sale. Not only did they take the fun out of making the wine from grape stomping but now they also use a plastic cork or a twist off cap for your wine instead of a wood cork. I don't think this would kill anybody now, it never has before. The wooden cork actually played a big role in preserving and attributing to the flavor of the wine.
How about you? Have you ever tried grape stomping? If not, would you? Would you drink it after being stomped on from someone else bare feet? What are your thoughts on the corking of the wine now days?
