#1 Eat Pray Love (2010)
This is the best movie if you have a passion for travelling, experiencing new things, and of course....love! Julia Roberts is an awesome actress. I have always loved her sassy and elegant style and in this movie she rocked it! As with every woman Julia Roberts, in the movie, doesn't really know what she wants but she knows that she is not happy and decides to open her horizons to find out what it is that is missing in her life. A must see!
Have a love for fashion? This one is for all of you! Meryl Streep is definitely my #1 actress and she did so well in this movie! If you have ever worked for someone that expects you to wrap your personal life around your work life and has an attitude like Cruella Devil then you can relate to this awesome film. Anne Hathaway is just an ordinary girl that is desperate for a job and applies for a fashion magazine with no experience, she may have bitten off more than she can chew.....
If you are a big love story buff, this is the biggest of big love movies out there. It is unique with many different love stories all wrapped into one. This is my favorite film to watch around the Christmas season even though it is still a good movie to watch anytime for the heart warming throb. This British flick with Hugh Grant is sure to warm you up on a cold winter night!
Another one of my favorite Christmas chick flicks is "The Family Stone". Have you ever felt uncomfortable when meeting your significant others family? Or get the impression they don't like you? Or that you don't fit in? Or you may possibly feel as though your own family is a little over protective of you....this is sure to knock your socks off with jaw dropping moments and laughter!
Looking for inspiration with a vintage history twist? "The help" is the best chick flick yet! When an amateur writer is trying to find something to WOW her editor to get her published she calls for help from "The Help". She turns to the African/American women of Jackson, Mississippi since she was raised by one it only made sense that she felt comfortable to turn to them for the answers. Lets just say the upper class white women weren't very impressed! Octavia Spencer was a riot in this film I must say!!!! Those scandalous prissy chicks got what was coming to them....
This movie is for all my ladies out there that have big dreams! Rule #1 Chase your dreams, Rule #2 Don't give up, and Rule #3 Don't take no for an answer!!! That is exactly what this film is about....fighting for what you want in life. I love dance and music so their is no question in my mind why I wouldn't put this one in my Top 10. With my young teen years of Cher being a big singer and newer Christina Aguilera who would want to miss this?!?!
After growing up in a Christian home I have a weakness for movies that have a sense of biblical faith behind them and especially ones that are African/American films based on the 50's era. I find that these types of movies carry a lot of heart and soul and touch mine in speaking. This is the perfect movie because not only was it phenomenal but it was Whitney Huston's last. If you don't get those tingles down your spine or butterflies in your stomach with the ending of this movie I don't know what will!!!! I admit every time I watch this I'm a victim of that feel good sensation and sense of accomplishment in the end.
Common.....who didn't love "Sex in the City"? I know this is the second one and I have to admit I like the first one better but I enjoy all of the movies and t.v. series and this is the latest one in the 20th century. I find it very rare for the sequels to make an impression like the first in my books! In saying that....I enjoy how Carrie Bradshaw comes up with her own perceptions in question in the end of every episode for her books on the show itself. It really makes you wonder about relationships and what is the reason certain aspects of the relationship take place. All of these women are very different when it comes to dreams, goals, and lifestyles but share beauty, fashion, and sophistication as most do. I think we can all relate to at least one of these ladies and in saying that in one way or another they bring us great laughter and joy while being entertained with their wittiness humor.
I believe this is the best love story of the 20th century hands down! Between young people being in love, parents getting involved and judging who they think is a best fit for their kid, and being torn apart from the only thing that may have ever made sense to them. This emotional roller coaster will have you wondering what happens next in the journey of this young couple. Just wait till you see what is in store. Best romance ever!
After a little girls parents decide to get a divorce she is determined to know how her parents met. Her dad tells her a story of the only three women he dated with holding the names of each so the daughter won't know who her mother is out of all of them. This mystery love story will keep you thinking all the way through to help this little girl figure out which one of these special ladies is her mother. The curiosity will keep glued to the television till the end. Can you guess which is the right fit before the movie ends?
